Camp Jabulani, Limpopo...

Camp Jabulani - walk with the elephants.

Camp Jabulani is a perfect example of the African bush, seamlessly blending with traditional yet stylish interiors (fit for princes and kings, but warm enough to make the most “down-to-earth” feel completely at home) with the natural bush beyond.

A camp of and within the elements offering a super option for a South African safari.

Camp Jabulani is well positioned within a Big Five Reserve in Hoedspruit. This is within the Limpopo Province in South Africa, and is in close proximity to the world famous Kruger National Park, the Drakensberg Mountain range, and the dramatically beautiful Mpumalanga region (which houses a collection of diverse private game reserves – which fortunately easily combine with the Camp Jabulani elephant safari experience).

The safari camp is constructed along the banks of a seasonal stream. There is an open-plan dining room and lounge which merge together with the wooden deck which lies in the shade of gigantic leadwood trees. The camp has an impressive suspension bridge that connects these relaxing living areas with the guest suites which lie dotted along the river side.

The sole purpose of the camp’s team of proficiently skilled and friendly staff is to satisfy the wishes of their valued guests. To indulge, spoil, pamper and entertain. But most importantly - to share with them the story and the experience of the elephants at Camp Jabulani.

Each of the six luxury suites is remote and private. Impressive wooden sliding doors present rooms which are a pure example of chic, comfort, grace and overall - an appreciation of the surrounding natural habitats. Pure cotton linens, huge stone bathtubs, an outdoor glass-enclosed shower, a cosy fire-place with a separate plush lounge area, and a private plunge pool complement each of the rooms. Camp Jabulani suites have well stocked mini-bars, safes, hairdryers and electric blankets for colder evenings. However temperature is regulated by the 24 hour temperature control and overhead ceiling fan.

Nothing seems to beat the first introduction to the Camp Jabulani elephants! Their utter size and presence are humbling. Camp Jabulani’s Paul closes the gap between man and giant with an enlightening preamble and orientation into the personalities of the elephants – providing useful information that will certainly entertain and edify.

A stay at Camp Jabulani offers you a share in the definitive South African safari experience. From camp you can view tree tops, birds' nests, and towers of giraffe almost eye to eye. On the back of an elephant you can truly feel part of the African bushveld instead of being a passive visitor. On elephant back, one is beyond doubt an central part of the experience.

Camp Jabulani’s private game reserve, is located in the Limpopo Province, covering a region of prime big-game terrain and it benefits from panoramic views of the nearby Drakensberg mountain ranges, and is only 40 km from the Kruger National Park.

As a result of a flourishing animal relocation programme, the reserve now is home to a wide variety of game including elephant, rhinoceros, buffalo, zebra, giraffe, blue wildebeest, waterbuck and many other kinds of antelope. Predators are in good number and include include lion, leopard, cheetah, spotted hyena and many smaller species.
