Cottars 1920's Camp

Cottar’s 1920's camp is located on an exclusive concession bordered by the Maasai Mara, the Serengeti and the Loliondo reserves, an area untouched by tourism perfect for the discerning guest.

The camp has an authentic feel of a unique bygone era when the word 'safari' was used by the adventurer rather than those enjoying an exclusive holiday. Cottar’s will offer you the original spirit and essence of 'safari', reminiscent of a golden era - an era of romance, professional guiding, adventure and elegance all rolled into one.

Cottar's 1920's Safari Camp is situated in a game rich exclusive concession that has been kept a secret for years. There are no hot air balloons overhead, and minibuses on the horizon, in fact there is nothing to disturb your special safari moments. The area has the added benefit that you’ll be able to enjoy a little driving 'off the road' due to the very low vehicle density of the area, in addition to exciting walking safaris and night drives with spot lights – something that is not permited in the Masai Mara.

Cottar’s 1920’s camp accommodates up to twelve clients in authentic billowy white canvas tents, which are spacious and luxuriously furnished and incorporate original safari antiques from the '20's; private en suite dressing rooms and bathrooms (with old-fashioned showers and flushing toilets), the main bedroom and an outdoor veranda.

The camp offers activities that include game drives guided by professionals in either a state of the art modern four wheel drive cars equiped with radios and cool boxes or for those wishing to embrace the bygone era an authentic wooden car. In camp guests can relax in a tented reading room with an extensive array of African and modern books and magazines for those who wish to merely while away an afternoon resting surrounded by the most splendid panorama.

The guided walks and night drives are highly recommended, nothing quite tunes the senses than meeting elephant on foot or the sudden cracking of twigs and moving grasses in the still of night.

Seperate to the indulgence of excellent game viewing there is also the option of a massage, manicure or pedicure whilst being served a cool glass of wine by you butler.
