Hunter’s Country House along the famous Garden Route is a thatched homestead is set in beautiful gardens, against the backdrop of the Tsitsikamma Mountains.
Hunter`s Country House is an exclusive, 5 star lodge hotel with an exceptional hospitality team situated in lush well tended gardens that offer and oasis of relaxation along South Africa’s Garden Route. Located overlooking an indigenous forest, just 7 miles west of Plettenberg Bay and 13 miles east of Knysna, Hunter's is right in the heart of the magnificent Garden Route.
The individually decorated garden suites are luxuriousy furnished with antiques, they have open fire places and private patios. The main thatched, 100 year old homestead, offers stately candle-lit dining rooms, cosy log fire lounges, a library and a sun drenched breakfast room.

Hunters Country House welcomes families with children of all ages. There is a well thought out recreation area, including a shallow swimming pool, games room and thatch-covered sandpit, especially for them.
Many people self drive along the Garden Route and Hunter’s Country House is a perfect for a two or three night stay. Whilst at the lodge you can enjoy fantastic walking along coastal routes perfect for a little photography and bird or whale watching. There are forest trails, tennis courts, fabulous golf courses and watersports, not forgetting the wide beautiful stretches of beach.
A little further afield are Oudtshoorn that offers the Cango caves, and intricate network of caves and kasems with high ceilings dripping with stalactites, and some wonderful Ostrich farms. Families often also like to visit the nearby Monkey sanctuary and the Tsitsikamma National Park.
