Kirurumu Serengeti camp is a luxury mobile camp that shadows the movements of the infamous migration of literally millions of wildebeest and zebra across the Serengeti plains.
The camp is moved seasonally to ensure the best location to witness what has often been called, ‘the greatest show on earth’. All though the camp is thought of as ‘mobile’ it still has all the luxuries offered by other luxury camps in the Serengeti, which the added benefit of an excellent location.
The camp has large walk in canvas tents which house comfortable beds with soft linens and safari furniture. Each tent has an en-suite bathroom with authentic piping hot bucket showers, toilet and wash basins. The main dining tent is delightful and often opens up one or two sides to the surrounding bush. After dinner the guests are invited to enjoy a few nightcaps around a glowing fire pit under the dark star-studded African night sky.
The food at the camp is simply remarkable, sumptuous, and tantalising at the same time it is often wondered how such delights can possible be cooked in such basic environment. The staff of Kirurumu Serengeti camp simply set themselves high standards that they never fail to achieve.
Using the camp as a base you can set off on your morning game drive and enjoy the prospect of plentiful numbers of game just a short distance away. Often a sumptuous lunch will be organised for you either by a river or under the shade of the trees for you to relax refuel before setting off again across the plains with your private vehicle and guide. When you return to camp in the evening, cool flannels and tall drinks await before you dine in splendour under stars and reminisce the day around a crackling camp fire. As a small and intimate camp the staff are on hand just to look after a very limited number of guests and so the level of attention and service is always excellent and your experience of the Serengeti a very personal experience.
In addition to being excellently located to view plentiful game the camp is also well placed to enable guests to take advantage of activities such as hot air ballooning when the camp is based in the central Serengeti region.
