at the foot of Table Mountain...
The Mount Nelson Luxury Cape Town Hotel.
Situated at the foot of Table Mountain, Cape Town’s most iconic image, The Mount Nelson Hotel, nestled within a lush garden estate and continues to provide both historical elegance and luxury comforts since it first opened in 1899.
The Hotel’s location makes it the ideal choice from which to enjoy the vibrant restaurants, bars and international shopping situated at the lively Victoria & Albert Waterfront and is within easy reach of some of Cape Town’s best white sand beaches. Just the perfect choice after or before your luxury safari or trip along South Africa’s Garden Route.
Just a relatively short drive from Cape Town International Airport making transfer times manageable following an international flight and is a welcome oasis of comfort and luxury.
The Hotel’s six individual accommodation wings each have their own character and include private gardens and facilities, each housing an impressive selection of rooms and suites of varying size to suit all compositions of guests, families and budgets without any compromise to luxury, facilities and excellent customer service.
Every type of accommodation is spacious and elegant with twin or king sized beds furnished with snow white 100% cotton linens, attractive en-suite facilities with complimentary L'Occitane toiletries, good views and free internet access. The Superior and Luxury rooms are individual in size according to their location in the Oasis Wing, The Main Hotel or Green Park where inter-connecting rooms, ideal for families, are available on request.
The Luxury Rooms, slightly larger in size than Superior Rooms enjoy a more spacious mini-lounge area and two of these rooms have been specially adapted for guests with mobility issues.
The Mount Nelson also offers an exciting range of suites for those guests requiring more spacious accommodation. These range from Junior Suites of varying layouts, grander Executive Suites, some self contained, Deluxe Suites, Luxury Suites and for ultimate luxury - the Penthouse.
Located on the top floor of The Green Park accommodation wing the marbled entrance leads to a luxurious suite complete with private balcony with stunning views of Table Mountain. The Penthouse is furnished in sumptuous, softly hued fabrics with authentic light fittings dating back to the 1930’s creating a romantic and lavish interior.
Finally, the eight Garden Cottages undoubtedly provide the perfect hideaway for honeymooners and couples. Each cottage has its own private rose garden and enclosed patio area together with luxury marble bathroom and walk in dressing room. For additional privacy the cottages are located alongside the secluded adults-only Garden Cottage pool.
As you would expect, excellent dining is high on the list of priorities for this hotel and the Mount Nelson has a long held tradition of providing not only fine dining but an enjoyable experience for all tastes. There are several venues including The Cape Colony, The Oasis Restaurant for more informal bistro-style al fresco dining and the Hotel’s famous Afternoon Teas are served daily in the Lounge.
For urban chic the terrace at the stylish Planet Bar provides an elegant setting to enjoy champagne or sundowner drink before moving on to dine, or to just remain there into the evening to enjoy the ambience over a cool drink and light meal.
For those whose vacation would not be complete without some indulgent pampering the hotel offers the Libirisa Spa. The Spa is located in original late Victorian buildings and has eight large rooms offering world class treatments together with a refreshment area and conservatory.
Due to its central location in Cape Town there are many visitor attractions available within easy reach of the Mount Nelson and a good base to explore the wider region including Robben Island, Cape Point and the beautiful Winelands where you can sample many excellent wines and enjoy a meal at some fine restaurants.
The Mount Nelson is an equally excellent starting or ending point for your luxury African vacation.
