First class service & attention to detail
We have been creating high end luxury safaris for the last 15 years. Our history in Africa stretches back another 20 years when the company’s founder, John Harvey, first undertook a safari to a very remote National Park in northern Nigeria. That experience alongside a number of years living and working in East and Southern Africa ultimately led to the creation of Opulent Africa some years later.
The company is founded on a true passion for the magnificent and diverse wildlife that lives in the protected rain forests, rivers, lakes and open plains of Africa. Backed by a very clear understanding of what it means to deliver first class service, our safaris are second to none.
When we put together a trip for you, we do so with the excitement of our own personal experiences and drawing on our memories to help create your own ultimate wildlife encounter of a lifetime. Every one of our team of professionals and highly experienced guides is totally dedicated to making your dreams come true.

We genuinely call this “work”
Over the last 15 years we have created thousands of unique and incredible wildlife experiences for our clients, some returning to Africa every single year. As a result, we are fortunate enough to consider many clients as personal friends.
John Harvey, Founder & CEO
John established Opulent Africa with the sole aim of building a luxury travel company capable of delivering a highly personalized service to a worldwide clientele.
John draws on his experience of having lived, worked and traveled extensively throughout the African continent over the last 35 years.
“I am an adventurer at heart and love exploring new places. Over the years, I have enjoyed many unfortgettable experiences throughout Africa, from close encounters with all manner of wildlife to “sleep outs” under spectacular star filled skies.
When designing customized safaris for our clients it is done with genuine passion and there is no greater reward for me personally than creating a ‘once-in-a-lifetime’ experience, never to be forgotten.”
