Day 1: Entebbe – Arrival in Uganda

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport, where you’ll be warmly greeted by your private guide, who will transfer you to your comfortable accommodation for the night. Settle in at the Boma Guesthouse, a charming and intimate property offering a relaxing atmosphere before you embark on your exciting Ugandan adventure.

Days 2 to 3: Kibale Forest National Park

In the morning, you will be privately transferred to Entebbe Airport for your light aircraft flight to Kibale Forest National Park, home to one of the highest concentrations of primates in Africa. Upon arrival, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your comfortable lodge, where you’ll stay for two nights surrounded by nature.

During your stay, embark on an unforgettable chimpanzee trekking experience in Kibale Forest. Accompanied by an expert guide, you will trek through the dense forest to encounter our close primate relatives, the chimpanzees, in their natural habitat. This exhilarating experience will bring you face to face with these intelligent creatures as they go about their daily activities.

You can also enjoy a guided nature walk at the Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a true haven for bird-watchers and wildlife enthusiasts. The sanctuary is home to a wealth of wildlife, including various primate species like the red colobus monkeys, as well as an array of colourful bird species. This peaceful walk offers a wonderful contrast to the more active treks, allowing you to connect with Uganda’s diverse ecosystems.

Days 4 to 6: Bwindi Impenetrable Forest – Gorilla Trekking Adventure

 

On the morning of Day 4, you will be transferred to the airstrip for your scheduled light aircraft flight to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. Upon arrival at the airstrip, your private guide will transfer you to your luxurious lodge for a three-night stay in this UNESCO World Heritage-listed forest, home to half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

On Days 5 and 6, your adventure truly begins. After an early breakfast, you will head to Park HQ for a thorough safety briefing before being assigned to a gorilla family for your trek. Led by expert rangers and guides, you will embark on two days of gorilla trekking through the lush, misty jungle of Bwindi.

Trekking through the dense vegetation, you’ll be rewarded with the unforgettable sight of mountain gorillas in their natural habitat, a truly humbling and once-in-a-lifetime experience. You’ll observe these gentle giants as they interact with each other, forage, and rest—an extraordinary opportunity to witness the intimate lives of these endangered creatures.

After each trek, you’ll return to the comfort of your lodge, Mahogany Springs Lodge, where you can unwind enjoying stunning views of the surrounding forest.

Days 7 to 8: Murchison Falls National Park – Game Drives and Boat Cruise

On Day 7, you will be transferred to the airstrip for a scenic light aircraft flight to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest and most iconic national park. Upon arrival, your private guide will transfer you to Paraa Safari Lodge, where you’ll stay for the next two nights. Set along the banks of the Victoria Nile River, the lodge offers both comfort and incredible views of the surrounding wilderness.

During your stay, you’ll enjoy thrilling game drives through Murchison Falls National Park. Known for its diverse wildlife, the park is home to an impressive array of animals, including elephants, lions, giraffes, crocodiles, and a wide variety of antelope species. Your game drive will take you across the park’s vast savannahs, providing ample opportunities to witness both predators and prey in action, as well as spectacular birdwatching moments.

One of the highlights of your stay will be a boat cruise on the Victoria Nile River. This cruise brings you up close to a variety of wildlife along the riverbanks, including pods of hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of birds. You’ll also have the chance to trek to the top of Murchison Falls, where you can witness the powerful Nile River plunging through a narrow gorge, creating a spectacular and unforgettable scene.

Day 9: End of Itinerary – Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary & Return to Entebbe

On the final day of your journey, you will be transferred to the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, located en-route back to Entebbe. This conservation sanctuary is home to Uganda’s only wild rhino population, and it provides a rare opportunity to trek white rhinos on foot with the guidance of your highly experienced safari guide. As you approach these magnificent creatures, you will gain insight into the sanctuary’s efforts to protect and reintroduce rhinos to Uganda’s wilderness.

In addition to the rhino trek, you will have the option to enjoy a canoe trip through the sanctuary’s wetlands, where you may encounter the elusive and striking shoebill stork, one of the world’s most sought-after bird species. The peaceful canoe ride offers an excellent opportunity to immerse yourself in the tranquil surroundings of the sanctuary’s wetlands and spot various other birdlife and wildlife along the way.

After your exciting adventures at Ziwa, you will be transferred back to Entebbe, where a day room will be available at The Boma Guest House for you to freshen up and relax before your onward flight. From here, you will be transferred to Entebbe International Airport for your departure.
