During your stay, explore the Mitsinjo Reserve, a private reserve dedicated to reforestation and conservation. Enjoy sightings of diverse wildlife and participate in planting indigenous species along the reforestation trail.

Days 5 to 8: Ifotaka – Spiny Forests and Sacred Lands
Next, your journey takes you to Mandrare River Camp, a luxurious tented camp set amidst the remote spiny forests of Ifotaka, where you’ll stay for 3 nights. A charter flight will take you from Antananarivo directly to Mandrare Airstrip, followed by a short transfer to the camp, where you’ll be greeted by panoramic views of the Mandrare River and the striking, otherworldly landscape of the spiny forest.
During your stay, you’ll enjoy luxurious tented accommodations with breath-taking views over the Mandrare River. Experience a night walk in the Forest of Zenavo, where you can witness diurnal lemurs like sifakas and white-footed sportive lemurs bedding down, while nocturnal species such as mouse lemurs come to life in the eerie spiny forest.
Madagascar is home to over 100 lemur species, each with fascinating characteristics, making this a memorable encounter with the island’s unique wildlife.
Explore the sacred gallery forest, home to inquisitive ring-tailed lemurs and acrobatic Verreaux sifakas. Later, take a peaceful walk through the sacred spiny forest, where you’ll encounter rare flora and fauna, as well as ancestral tombs of the Antandroy tribe. Your guide and a local tracker will share insights into the cultural significance of the area. Afterward, relax by the pool or enjoy sundowners on the banks of the Mandrare River.
Immerse yourself in the local culture by visiting a nearby Antandroy village or the local market. In the evening, enjoy the magical sight of the sun setting and the moon rising over the baobabs, followed by a traditional dance and music performance that showcases the vibrant culture of the Antandroy people.

Days 8 to 9: Return to Antananarivo – explore the capital
This morning, you’ll transfer to the Mandrare Airstrip (a 5-minute drive) in time for your scheduled charter flight back to Antananarivo, where you will check back into Nosy Manga Hotel Ivato Airport.
In the afternoon, meet your English-speaking guide and explore Antananarivo’s historical upper town, including a visit to the Queen’s Palace, known for its stunning French-inspired architecture. You’ll then head downtown to enjoy the old colonial railway station, which was built by the French in 1910 and offers a glimpse into the city’s colonial past.

Days 9 to 13: Tsingy de Namoroka – Limestone Forests and Remote Beauty
The next part of your adventure will take you to the stunning Tsingy de Namoroka National Park, a UNESCO-listed site renowned for its dramatic limestone formations, often described as “Tsingy” (meaning “where one cannot walk barefoot” in Malagasy). The park is a maze of sharp, jagged pinnacles, deep gorges, and lush forests, creating an otherworldly landscape unlike anywhere else in the world. This geological wonder is home to a rich array of wildlife, including endemic species of lemurs, birds, and reptiles.
A charter flight will take you from Antananarivo to the nearest airstrip, followed by a scenic transfer to Tsingy Lodge, a luxury eco-lodge tucked away in a remote location, surrounded by these awe-inspiring limestone peaks. The lodge offers the perfect blend of comfort and wilderness, with spacious bungalows designed to harmonize with the natural surroundings. During your stay at Tsingy Lodge, you’ll have three days to immerse yourself in the pristine beauty of Tsingy de Namoroka National Park, one of Madagascar’s most remote and exclusive protected areas. Only 50 visitors are allowed each year due to the park’s challenging accessibility, making it a truly special destination. The park is home to incredible biodiversity, including over 100 bird species and 6 lemur species, such as the playful Von der Dicken’s sifaka, the elusive Milne-Edwards sportive lemur, and the red lemur.
During your explorations, venture into the park’s unique cave systems, where you’ll encounter rare fossil remains of extinct species like the Archaeolemur, a giant lemur that weighed up to 26 kg. Enjoy picnic lunches beneath the shade of the striking Tsingy formations, and take in the extraordinary landscapes of limestone pinnacles and remote forests.
