Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO), you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to the Gran Melia Arusha, a luxurious hotel nestled in the lush foothills of Mount Meru. Arusha, known as the safari capital of northern Tanzania, offers a perfect blend of urban sophistication and natural beauty.

Spend the day unwinding in the serene surroundings, indulging in fine dining, and enjoying the hotel’s elegant amenities as you prepare for the adventure ahead.

Accommodation: Gran Melia Arusha
Meals: Breakfast

Days 2 to 4: Randilen, Nimali Tarangire

The next part of your adventure takes you to the Randilen Community Wildlife Management Area, a 327 km² conservation area that stretches from the northeastern boundary of Tarangire National Park. In this beautiful part of Tanzania, you’ll have the opportunity to see an impressive range of wildlife, including giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, and buffalo, all of which gather around the seasonal Tarangire River. The dry season concentrates wildlife in the valley, but during the green season, the area comes alive with vibrant flora, migratory birds, and plenty of game.

Your accommodation for the next two nights is the luxurious Nimali Tarangire, set within a private concession. The camp features tents with elegant interiors, private decks, and views of a waterhole where wildlife often comes to drink.

During your stay you will embark on exciting game drives through the park, where you’ll be guided by expert rangers who will share their knowledge about the animals and the local ecosystem. At the end of the day, enjoy sundowners while watching the sunset paint the sky in dramatic hues, followed by a delicious bush dinner.

Other activities include walking safaris and visits to the Tarangire River, where you may witness elephants splashing in the water or hippos relaxing in the shallows. The chance to experience a private game drive in a restricted area makes this a truly exclusive experience.

Accommodation: Nimali Tarangire

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner

Days 4 to 6: Ngorongoro Crater

Next, your journey takes you to the Ngorongoro Crater, one of the most remarkable natural wonders of the world. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is a massive volcanic caldera that houses a vibrant ecosystem. Its crater floor is home to some of the highest concentrations of wildlife in Africa, including the Big Five—lions, leopards, buffalo, elephants, and rhinos. You’ll have the unique opportunity to witness large herds of wildebeest, zebra, and antelope grazing in the shadow of the crater’s towering walls, while predators stalk their prey.

For two nights, you’ll stay at the Wilderness Collection – Craters Edge Lodge, perched on the rim of the crater.

The lodge offers exclusive access to the crater floor, allowing you to embark on exhilarating game drives in this breathtaking landscape. At Craters Edge, you will be treated to luxury accommodations with sweeping views of the surrounding wilderness. After a thrilling day of safari, unwind with a gourmet meal at the lodge, where chefs craft exquisite dishes using fresh, local ingredients.

On one of the days, you’ll be taken to the crater floor for a truly special experience—an exquisite Crater Floor Banquet lunch. Enjoy fine dining amidst the stunning backdrop of wildlife, with a delicious spread of local and international cuisine. You may also have the chance to visit a Maasai boma, where you can learn about the traditional way of life of the Maasai people, watch their fascinating dances, and participate in cultural activities.

Accommodation: Craters Edge
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Days 6 to 9: Northern Serengeti

Your adventure continues with a light aircraft transfer to the Northern Serengeti, renowned for its breath-taking savannah landscapes and as the stage for the Great Migration. In this remote part of the Serengeti, you will have the chance to witness the dramatic spectacle of wildebeest and zebra crossing the Mara River—one of Africa’s most iconic wildlife events. But even outside of migration season, the region is rich in wildlife, with large populations of lions, giraffes, gazelles, and leopards.

During your three-night stay at Lamai Serengeti, you’ll experience the luxury of a tented camp offering unparalleled views of the Serengeti plains. Each tent is spacious and beautifully decorated, with private verandas from which to enjoy the panoramic landscape. Your days will be filled with thrilling game drives, during which you’ll explore the vast plains with expert guides who will help you track down the big cats and other wildlife. A highlight of your stay is the opportunity to take a walking safari, where you can connect with the land on a deeper level, learning about the smaller creatures and the rich biodiversity that often goes unnoticed on a traditional game drive.

The Northern Serengeti is also known for its hot air balloon safaris, offering a breath-taking aerial view of the migration or wildlife-rich plains below. Whether on foot, in a vehicle, or high above the savannah, every moment will leave you with a deeper appreciation of Africa’s wild beauty.

Accommodation: Lamai Serengeti
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner

Day 9: End of Itinerary – Farewell to Tanzania

On the final morning of your unforgettable safari, you will be transferred to the airstrip where you’ll board a scheduled light aircraft flight to Kilimanjaro International Airport. With amazing memories of your Northern Tanzania adventure you will then connect to your onward flight.
